Brianne Turczynski is a Michigan freelance writer and historical researcher. She received an MA in education from Oakland University with a concentration in English and history. Her fiction, nonfiction, and poetry have appeared in Halcyone Magazine, The 3288 Review, The Write Launch, Flying Ketchup Press, Valley Living Magazine, Michigan Out-of-Doors Magazine, and Planet Detroit News. She is currently a contributor for Metromode Media.

She has won awards for her writing through Oakland University. Her book, Detroit’s Lost Poletown: The Little Neighborhood that Touched a Nation, was released with the History Press on February 8th, 2021. Her short documentary film, Not For Sale, was recently selected for the Better Cities Film Festival and three international film festivals. She lives in Michigan.
